Snow Shoeing on Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving day we decided to go snow shoeing up in the experimental forest. It was BEAUTIFUL!! Mom, dad, and I all brought our cameras.....dad only took a picture of a leaf! Dad loves the outdoors, so every time he got ahead (which felt like every minute, because mom, Hannah, and I were collecting bows for our advent wreath) he looked out at at the sky.
Hannah and I decided to snow shoe.

Isn't it BEAUTIFUL!On the way back home we discovered 4 sets of animal tracks!
Can you guess what they are?

Indian Dress for Kit

I am studying India , and had just read a paragraph in my history book about traditional dress when I had a great idea......I thought that it would be cool if I made an Indian dress for my doll, Kit. It was a great experience, and I thought I would share it with you.

Cutting It Out
First I went to Walmart and bought piece of fabric in a nice color of orange.
Then I cut it in half .

Wrapping .
First take one of the halves and wrap it around her waist 2 times. Now pinch 4 to 6 pleats.
Next I put a rubber band around Kit's waist to hold the fabric in place. (Indian women tuck the fabric into their petticoat.) You need to be careful not to unravel the pleats. Finally, I folded the fabric in half and brought it up under her left arm and over her right shoulder.

All Finished!!
I cut out a small red dot of felt and stuck it on Kit's forehead. This shows that an Indian woman is married.

LEFTOVER OATMEAL MUFFINS
by Crystal Miller

INGREDIENTS

1 cup leftover, cooked oatmeal

3/4 c milk

2 T real maple syrup ( you can use honey, but we use syrup)

1 1/2 c bread flower

1 1/2 T baking power

1/2 t salt

In a small bowl combine leftover oatmeal and milk; using a wire whisk if needed so

there are no clumps of oatmeal. Add egg and mix well. Add melted butter and maple

syrup and mix well.

In a large bowl combine bread flower, baking powder and salt. Add milk/oatmeal

mixture and mix until combine being careful not to over mix. Divide batter in a muffin

pan that has been sprayed with non-stick spray. Fillthe muffin cups 3/4 full. Bake at

Rebekah's first bike ride

Rebekah's first bike ride was interesting for ALL of us.She was packed in her carrier with toys, water, and snacks. She did well on the way there but there on the way home she was tired of the view, and got a little fussy. So we rushed back home, and were winded when we got there. All in all we all had a GREAT time!
